Does DeVry University guarantee education-related employment?
No. However, DeVry University is committed to and dependent on the success of its graduates. Therefore, the Career Services department actively assists upcoming and recent graduates in obtaining education-related employment within 6 months of graduation. Students are expected to conduct a self-directed job search, contact Career Services every other week and follow up on job leads supplied by the university. Students, who wish to increase the chances for success, should make contact with a Career Advisor several terms before graduation.

What is InterfaSE?
InterfaSE is a web-based application specifically designed for DeVry University to connect students with employers. This system allows students to search local listings, apply for positions and manage their career search. InterfaSE is the sole means for communicating fulltime, education-related job opportunities with upcoming and recent graduates. Employers are also invited into the system to "shop" for qualified DeVry candidates and post jobs directly with a specific graduate population. Students are given access to this system at the beginning of their final term.

Can you help me find a part-time job?
Part time employment assistance is available for students through Career Services. New students are eligible for this employment service after registration and continuing students are welcome to take advantage of this program as well. The primary purpose of a part time job is to help finance the student's education, not to establish a permanent career. Beginning students should not expect part time jobs to be related to their academic field, however, many of the skills developed through this experience, such as time management, team work, customer service, problem solving, and communication skills, prove to be extremely valuable when pursuing career-related positions upon graduation. Since employment depends upon local business conditions and individual circumstances, we cannot guarantee jobs. A part time job may also take several weeks to secure. As a result, students are encouraged to begin their search as soon as possible. The only restriction on part time employment is that it not be detrimental to the student's health and scholastic progress. Ordinarily, work schedules beyond 25 hours per week are not advisable. Guidelines for the program are available in Career Services.

What is a Part-Time Job/Internship Fair?
At the beginning of each term, the Career Services Department hosts an on-campus recruiting event specifically designed for students seeking part-time jobs and internships/Co-ops. This is NOT necessarily an education-related recruiting event. Students are encouraged to bring résumés and dress in business casual to business professional attire.

What is a Career Fair and how should I prepare for this event?
The Career Fair is an on-campus, education-related recruiting event designed to connect upcoming and recent graduates with employers seeking fulltime employees. Students are expected to bring plenty of résumés and participate in preliminary interviews. To prepare for the event, students are strongly encouraged to research the companies in attendance, dress professionally and get plenty of sleep the night before. For more detailed information about Career Fair etiquette, résumé creation and professional attire, please make an appointment with your Career Advisor.

Can you help me find a job if I want to relocate after graduation?
Yes. Simply notify your Advisor and you will be asked to complete a relocation packet. Upon completion of the packet, your Advisor will send the necessary paperwork to the campus serving your region of the country. It is the students' responsibility to make initial contact with that regional advisor and maintain bi-weekly contact with the home campus.
